The live action series One Piece managed to reach the top of the top 10 most popular series on Netflix. This series was also recorded as having been watched 18.5 million times during the four days of broadcast since its release on August 31, 2023.
Reporting from a report on the Netflix Tudum site, One Piece was watched for 140.1 million hours in the English language TV series category. Recently the Japanese manga adaptation series also peaked at number 1 in 46 countries as well as entered the top 10 in 93 countries since its broadcast.
This achievement is a new record compared to the previous day which had become number one in 84 countries. Through this glorious record, One Piece beat the achievements of other Netflix original series, namely Wednesday and Stranger Things season four. Previously, both series peaked at number one in 83 countries upon their debut.
Thus, One Piece also replaces the series Who is Erin Carter? which previously occupied first position on last week's chart by gaining 15.8 million views and 90.3 million viewing hours for the period 28 August to 3 September. Meanwhile in third position is Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones which was watched 5.7 million times in 15.2 million hours watched.
Meanwhile, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah reached the top in the English language film category with 31.9 million views and 37.9 million hours watched. Then in second place was The Monkey King which received 6.6 million views, and followed by Heart of Stone in third place with 6.5 million views.
One Piece is a Japanese manga adaptation series by Eiichiro Oda who also serves as executive producer. The writer also worked with Steven Maeda and Matt Owens as showrunners. This series tells the story of a teenager named Luffy whose ambition is to be able to sail the seas as a pirate king.
One Piece is played by five main characters, namely Iñaki Godoy who plays Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp. One Piece can be watched since August 31, 2023 on Netflix.
