SF9's Rowoon actually asked for this, Willing to not be paid to play a gay role in 'A Time Called You'

SF9's Rowoon especially gave a special appearance in the Netflix series ' A Time Called You '. Rowoon appeared in episode 8 and played the character Tae Ha who is Koo Yeon Joon's male friend. But unexpectedly, Tae Ha actually expressed his feelings for Koo Yeon Joon. 

Reporting from Joy News 24, on Monday September 11, 2023, the director of the Netflix series 'A Time Called You', Kim Jin Won, revealed the reasons for choosing Rowoon to play the Gay character. According to him, even though he only appears briefly, Tae Ha's character has an important role. 

According to him, the desired chemistry will only be achieved if Ahn Hyo Seop acts with an actor who is close to him, so that he feels comfortable and can interact emotionally. Director Kim Jin Won then said, " I asked Ahn Hyo-seop, Who are the actors you are close to? " 

Then Rowoon's name was mentioned. Ahn Hyo Seop and Rowoon are actually very close friends. Then Ahn Hyo Seop offered to contact Rowoon. Then Director Kim Jin Won said, " After that I conveyed it to the agency and asked Ahn Hyo Seop to ask Rowoon if he had no problem with his character being like this (gay)? ". 

Then without going through a long process, Rowoon immediately agreed. What is interesting is the fact that Rowoon did not receive payment for his role as Koo Yeon Joon's lover. However, he actually wanted other conditions. Namely, Rowoon wants to send a food truck in his name to Ahn Hyo Seop. 

Director Kim Jin Won also shared his thoughts about Rowoon while filming. He said, " It was hard for Rowoon to decide to appear, so I hope it will be a good scene. " Then he added, " While filming, the two of them and I kept talking. I think that this is the only project where the two actors can do scenes like this ." 

He also talked about the fun atmosphere on set with Rowoon, “ After acting out deep emotions, they shouted at each other because they were amused. Even after the hand-holding scene, they even threw away his hands. 

” 'A Time Called You' is a series that tells the story of Jun Hee (played by Jeon Yeo Been), who misses her lover who died a year ago. She magically travels back in time to 1998 and meets Si Heon (played by Ahn Hyo Seop), who is very similar to her boyfriend.
