NCT's Taeyong will reportedly begin his military service on April 15, 2024. Quoting from the m.stoo.com website on Monday March 18, 2024, SM Entertainment confirmed that Taeyong will begin basic military training on April 15 2024, before officially carrying out his military duties in the Navy military band.

Taeyong is the first member of the boy group NCT who will begin carrying out his mandatory military duties this year. Meanwhile, the oldest member, Taeil, postponed his mandatory military registration due to a motorbike accident he experienced in August 2023, after suffering a broken right femur and undergoing surgery.

Previously, Taeyong had participated in an enlistment interview in the military band since last January, and competed with 6 people for the vocal position. Taeyong has a strong desire to join the military band, even though he has a history of serious back injuries.

One of the three songs was selected as a free song, and Taeyong performed his own song, and passed the final interview on January 23, 2024 with his high singing ability. Meanwhile, Taeyong is expected to complete his mandatory military duty on December 9, 2025.

On the other hand, before saying his official farewell to fans and quitting his activities as a K-Pop idol, Taeyong had prepared many things. Including making a comeback with their second mini album 'TAP' on February 26, 2024. As well as holding a 2-day concert entitled 'TY TRACK' in Seoul at the end of February.

Taeyong also participated in NCT 127's special winter album 'Be There For Me' which was released in December last year, as the last Christmas Day celebration event with fans before he started work. It doesn't stop there, the leader of the NCT group has also completed the 'Neo City: The Unity' concert series with NCT 127 on March 9 and 10, 2024 at Tokyo Dome, Japan.

Even though they are sad about being left behind to carry out their mandatory military duties by their idol, Taeyong's fans still pray for the best so that their idol carries out their duties smoothly. And of course come back in good health.
