Colin Farrell will reprise his role as Oswald 'Oz' Cobblepot or Penguin in The Batman - Part II. According to Screen Rant on Monday July 29, 2024, filming will begin in early 2025. Penguin is one of Batman's arch enemies in the DC Comics universe. He is known for his sharp criminal strategies and has various sophisticated equipment that is often used to fight Batman.

Robert Pattinson also reprises his role as Batman in the film, which is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026. Fans have had to be patient for more than four years since the first film, The Batman , was released, which marked a new era for the caped crusader. The Batman - Part II will continue the story after the HBO series, The Penguin starring Colin Farrell. In the series, Colin returns as the Penguin after the events of the first film.

The Penguin tells the story of the power vacuum that occurs after the death of Carmine Falcone at the hands of The Riddler. The latest trailer shows several characters who will be involved in the power struggle in Gotham. One such character is Hangman aka Sofia Falcone, Carmine Falcone's daughter. In the Batman: Dark Victory comic, Hangman is a character who has a close relationship with Two-Face.

With Colin Farrell returning in The Batman - Part II , it's likely the film will feature Hangman being recruited by Two-Face to destroy the remnants of Gotham's criminal underworld. Matt Reeves may take a different approach to his film. He could make Penguin the main villain in Gotham. This seems like a logical progression after seeing how Penguin's power increased in the first film and the series.

In The Batman - Part II, Penguin has the potential to be a major threat to Batman and this film could be a key part of the story that sets up the major conflict for the third and final film in Matt Reeves' Batman trilogy. With The Penguin as a DC project set to debut this coming September, the news that the character's story will continue after the series has added to fan enthusiasm.
