Deadpool is back with his third film titled Deadpool and Wolverine. The film, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, launched its first trailer at the 2024 Super Bowl match on Sunday, February 12, 2024 local time.
As the title suggests, Deadpool will bring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine character. This is Jackman's first appearance since he starred in Logan in 2017. The trailer features the Time Variance Authority (TVA) kidnapping Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) while celebrating his birthday.
He is transported to the Marvel cinematic universe and meets TVA agent Paradox (Matthew Macfayden). “I am God Marvel,” Deadpool explains himself to Paradox. Several other scenes show Deadpool fighting a number of people but when he falls, he sees someone coming towards him.
Wolverine's face is not visible in the trailer, but his shadow is visible when he approaches Deadpool with his iconic hand. The film went through a long production process due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which forced them to change its release date from May to July 2024.
The sequel, Deadpool 2, did well at the box office and the third film is expected to do similarly well. The Deadpool & Wolverine film will be released theatrically on Friday July 26, 2024.
