2PM's Chansung has been confirmed to star in a new Japanese film titled ' Hold Me Tighter Than Anyone '. The film is the latest work of director Eiji Uchida, who previously directed the films 'Midnight Swan' and 'Silent Love', as well as the Netflix series 'The Naked Director'. The film 'Hold Me Tighter Than Anyone' is adapted from Fuyuki Shindo's novel of the same name.

Through this project, Director Uchida will continue to explore themes about overcoming life's challenges and connecting through love, as he did in his previous films. In addition to Chansung, other stars who will star in this film are Kubo Shiori, a member of Nogizaka46, and Miyama Ryoki, a member of BE:FIRST.

"I adapted this novel, which I found by chance, into a film. My goal was to capture and project the sadness and purity of love depicted in the novel onto the screen with young actors," Director Eiji was quoted as saying by Soompi on Wednesday August 7, 2024.

He added, "The performances by Miyama Ryoki, Shiori Kubo, and Chansung, who are also musicians, are a wonderful blend of freshness and realism. I hope everyone can see it in theaters.” Chansung will play Lee Jae Hong, a young man who pursues his dream of becoming a chef in Japan despite his father's pressure to join the family business.

In the film, Mizushima Tsukina (played by Kubo Shiori), who owns a children's bookstore, lives with Mizushima Yoshiki (played by Miyama Ryoki), an aspiring children's book writer. Despite their deep bond and long relationship, Yoshiki struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder and misophobia, making even simple gestures like holding hands with Tsukina difficult.

Determined to get help, Ryoki meets Chiharu at the hospital. Chiharu is a woman with similar symptoms. As they begin to share their struggles, Tsukina feels jealous. Meanwhile, Tsukina meets Lee Jae Hong, a man who is emotionally distant in her relationship. The story highlights their complex interactions and conflicts as they face physical and emotional challenges.

"I'm happy because this opportunity feels like a turning point in my acting career in Japan. When I received the offer to appear in this film, I was determined to do my best with this great project, which fuels my passion," said Chansung. He added, "Working with the cast and crew on set was fantastic.

Director Uchida Eiji's precise and detailed directing, along with the staff's incredible skills, created a strong synergy. Lastly, Chansung admitted that he was very lucky to have the opportunity to work with talented actors who created a great collaborative spirit. Meanwhile, the film 'Hold Me Tighter Than Anyone' will be released in theaters in February 2025.
