An ENHYPEN fan died after taking her own life during a live broadcast from her residence in Seoul. The Yonhap news agency reported that in the early hours of August 5, 2026, police received a report about a Japanese woman in her 20s at a residence in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Local media later reported that the young woman died after taking her own life during a live stream from the residence. Various media outlets and social media users later identified the young woman as “Minachan.”
An influencer with nearly 80,000 followers and administrator of a fansite dedicated to ENHYPEN, primarily focused on Ni-ki. She was also known within the fandom for supporting the pairing of Sunoo and Ni-ki, known among fans as “Sunki.”
Weeks before her death, the young woman attended an ENHYPEN concert in the United States on July 26, 2026, where she threw bouquets of flowers to Ni-ki and Sunoo, hoping to take a picture of them together.
She reportedly expressed her disappointment at not achieving her goal, which drew criticism from some members of the ENGENE fandom. Later, according to user reports, Ni-ki held a live stream on July 30th in which he addressed the behavior of some fans during concerts who, instead of enjoying the show, were distracted.
Although he didn't directly mention the young woman, she interpreted his comments as being related to the flower incident and posted an apology on her X account on July 31st, acknowledging that she had crossed the line as a fan.
She also apologized to Sunoo, the group's fans, and anyone who felt uncomfortable about what happened. She also announced the permanent closure of her fansite.
Following this announcement, the young woman began receiving a wave of criticism and negative comments on social media. While some users have linked this situation to her death, there has been no official confirmation regarding the circumstances surrounding her passing.
