EXO debuted ten years ago, in 2012 to be exact. However, various incidents in the early days of their debut are still remembered. During a recent Christmas radio show, Baekhyun shared one of the memories during EXO's performance that embarrassed him in the early days of the group's debut.
Thinking back to 2012, Baekhyun said he rewatched a video that made him very embarrassed when he saw it. “This time, I will watch a video that I personally find very embarrassing ,” said Baekhyun, quoted from Koreaboo on December 19, 2022.
The event was a historic performance for EXO that aired on the children's network Tooniverse. Baekhyun had several reasons why he was uncomfortable watching it. First, EXO was not famous at the time, which meant that the elementary school students they performed at had no idea who they were.
The lighting setup that shone on EXO was too much for Baekhyun at the time. “It was hard for me to accept that we danced like that in a school auditorium. The lights were too bright. There was so much natural light too,” Baekhyun said.
At that time EXO was wearing full stage costumes making it even more embarrassing for Baekhyun. He would have preferred if they had matched the atmosphere and dressed casually. “My hair is done very neatly. I have perfect makeup.
It would be better if we dressed more casually, but we always want to wear stage costumes,” Baekhyun explained. Because fans sent in their embarrassing moments, Baekhyun ended up watching them. Even so, he still couldn't bear to watch them ten years after the incident. "So it's quite hard to watch. It makes me feel anxious," he said.
