BTS Jimin's father, Mr. Park, recently planned to hold a fan meeting in Takasaki, Japan. The event was actually held to mark the opening of his cafe branch. However, the fan meeting received harsh criticism from fans. Recently, the cafe announced that the fan meeting was canceled.
"We expect many fans to come to our event, as this is the first time Mr. Park has held an event like this in Japan," the cafe wrote. The cafe also revealed the reason for the fan meeting being canceled. "However, Mr. Park was unable to travel to Japan due to personal reasons.
We apologize to inform you that the event has unfortunately been canceled," the cafe added. The cafe, now renamed ZMILLENNIL, first opened in Busan. The cafe also sells a variety of merchandise, including T-shirts, cups, hats, hand cream, and more, mostly in BTS' signature color, purple.
Products symbolizing JIMIN's birth year, 1995, are also available. The cafe's merchandise is priced between 20,000 and 75,000 won, with a gold necklace costing 320,000 won. The cafe is always crowded with K-Pop fans, especially BTS fans.
The popularity of the ZMILLENNIL cafe also made Jimin's father's name famous. Visitors reportedly queued up to get Mr. Park's autograph. The long line to get the autograph was always there. Criticism arose after merchandise with Jimin's father's signature appeared. Mr. Park also reportedly planned to sell T-shirts signed "PAPA".
Some argued that Mr. Park was using BTS and JIMIN's fame for personal gain. Meanwhile, Jimin's father some time ago revealed the reason for changing the cafe's name from MAGNATE to ZMILLENNIL because another party had already registered the trademark for the name MAGNATE. He decided to change it.
