BTS's Jin is reportedly preparing to release his first solo album in the second half of 2024. The news was conveyed directly by BigHit Music as the agency that has managed the BTS group since their debut in 2013.

As reported by local media Korea JoongAng Daily on Wednesday August 7, 2024, Jin BTS's solo project was discussed in HYBE's second quarter earnings report. The report was delivered directly by HYBE's new CEO, Lee Jae-sang. However, until now, the agency has not provided more detailed information regarding the album's release schedule. 

This solo album will be Jin's first project after releasing several singles and collaboration songs as a soloist, namely the song Tonight in 2019, Abyss in 2020, Yours which became the soundtrack for the drama Jirisan, and Super Tuna in 2021.

Before starting his military service in 2022, Jin also released a solo song titled The Astronaut which was specially co-written by Coldplay. Jin's upcoming solo album also completes the list of other solo albums that have been released by BTS members. J-Hope became the first BTS member to release an album before entering the military through Jack in the Box on July 15, 2022. 

Then, RM continued with the album Indigo on December 2, 2022. RM released his second solo album during his military service on May 24, entitled Right Place, Wrong Person. BTS's Jimin became the next member with the album FACE on March 24, 2023 and returned to release his second solo album MUSE on June 17, 2024. 

Suga then released the album D-Day on April 21, 2023, followed by V with the album Layover on September 8, 2023, and ending with Jungkook with the album Golden on November 3, 2023. BTS's Jin became the first member to carry out his military service and only returned to civilian life on June 12, 2024.

J-Hope will be discharged from the military on October 17, 2024, followed by RM and V on June 10, 2025, then Jimin and Jungkook the following day, and ending with Suga on June 21, 2025. All other BTS members are expected to complete their military duties in preparation for their comeback as a group in 2025.
