Kim Young Dae recently shared his thoughts on his character in the upcoming Korean drama ' No Gain No Love ' which will air this month. Carrying the romantic comedy genre, 'No Gain No Love' tells the story of Son Hae Young (played by Shin Min Ah), a woman who enters into a fake marriage to avoid losing a promotion at work.
In this drama, Kim Young Dae plays Kim Ji Wook, a man who is recruited to be Son Hae Young's fake husband. Kim Ji Wook is a part-time worker who works the night shift at a convenience store.
He has a kind and friendly personality, and his heart is always moved to help when he sees someone in need. Although he initially hides his good looks behind thick-rimmed glasses and long hair, Kim Ji Wook makes a change to his appearance to take on the role of fake groom Son Hae Young.
Kim Young Dae also revealed the reason why he was interested in starring in 'No Gain No Love'. "This drama captures various aspects of reality in different ways, which I find fun and interesting," said Kim Young Dae as quoted by Soompi August 9, 2024.
The actor added, “The different characters end up getting entangled with each other, and I think the various incidents that unfold in that entanglement are one of the biggest charms of our drama.” Kim Young Dae has openly expressed his admiration for his character, Kim Ji Wook.
“Ji Wook is a rational person, but he is someone who doesn't want to trouble or harm others," he said. He continued, “Although he is good at doing a quick cost-benefit analysis in certain situations, he would rather take a loss than cause even the slightest harm to others, which I find very admirable.”
The production team of 'No Gain No Love' also praised Kim Young Dae's acting quality as a rising young actor. "Actor Kim Young Dae, who took on a role completely different from the other characters he has played so far, showed a very realistic performance.
