The late South Korean actor, Lee Sun Kyun was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the 29th Busan International Film Festival and will hold a special exhibition entitled 'A Good Person, Lee Sun-kyun'.
The award is given to filmmakers who have raised the status of Korean cinema and contributed to its global growth, and the late Lee Sun Kyun was loved by both Korean and foreign film fans through his various works.
A selection of the actor's works will be screened in the special exhibition 'A Good Person, Lee Sun Kyun', including the films Paju (2009), Our Sun Hee (2013), A Hard Day (2014), Parasite (2019), and The Land of Happiness (2024).
The Land of Happiness is one of Lee Sun Kyun's latest films which is currently showing in South Korean cinemas. In addition to the film, the drama My Mister starring Lee Sun Kyun with IU will also be aired.
Out of a total of 16 episodes, the organizers will choose episode five to air where the audience can feel the actor's emotions and breath. Meanwhile, the 29th Busan International Film Festival will be held for ten days from October 2 to 11 at the Busan Cinema Center.
