Chinese fitness influencer Liu Can tragically died after drowning. The 27-year-old was creating content at a tourist location that was off-limits to the public. According to his family, Liu's body was cremated three days after the accident on Thursday September 5, 2024.
Local police confirmed that the area in Nanchuan District, Chongqing City, where the incident took place, is a restricted area for the public and tourists are prohibited from accessing it. For the sake of content, Liu apparently did not think about the risks.
Liu is currently pursuing a career as a body builder. He also owns two gym businesses that he is currently managing and has recently been promoting his fitness places. Liu's drowning shocked his family. Liu was described as an active and cheerful person, so his passing has left the family sad.
"He was a very cheerful, enthusiastic and kind child. We all loved him very much. His passing has left us very sad," said Liu's uncle, as quoted by The Sun. This is not the first time an influencer has died while allegedly creating content.
Some time ago, a Hong Kong influencer died from a cliff while taking a selfie. Sofia Cheung slipped while taking pictures of herself on the edge of a waterfall cliff. She lost her footing and fell into the five-meter-deep water.
