SHINee's Onew officially made his comeback on September 3, 2024 at 6 p.m. KST through his third mini album "Flow" with the title track " Beat Drum ". This is Onew's first comeback after leaving SM Entertainment and joining Griffin Entertainment last April 2024.
"Beat Drum" is an upbeat pop song that combines with Onew's kitschy vocals. While the lyrics describe a heartbeat illustrated like a drum beat. This song can also mean charm or attraction. "Beat Drum" was written by (XYXX) as the co-writer of the lyrics. He has also previously written songs for EXO's DO and NMIXX.
In the MV, Onew follows his own drum beat, showing his unique charm that feels different from his previous solo songs. So this album adds to the diversity of music and concepts of Onew as a soloist who is increasingly mature.
After releasing "Voice", "Dice", "Circle", and now "Flow" brings a fresh atmosphere that is also different from most of the songs released this year. In fact, the idol born in 1989 also did a cool rap in this comeback. In a live broadcast via Instagram, Onew said that Key and Minho taught him to sing rap.

Meanwhile, Onew will open a pop up store on September 5-15 and continue with a fan concert on October 5-6, 2024. The concert titled 'Hola!' will open in Seoul, before continuing in Japan on November 21-22, 2024.
