Taylor Swift officially endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz ahead of the 2024 US presidential election. The musician publicly expressed her support via personal social media on Tuesday September 10, 2024 United States time.
Through the uploaded statement, Taylor Swift also mentioned Donald Trump's impact on misusing his Artificial Intelligence (AI) photo and becoming a victim of misinformation. "I recently learned that 'my' AI falsely supported Donald Trump's candidacy on his page," Taylor Swift wrote in a recent Instagram post.
"This really adds to my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation," she continued. The comments were directed at the misuse of Taylor Swift's AI photo on Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, in August 2024. At the time, Donald Trump posted several photos of support for the Republican presidential candidate's campaign.
One of the photos featured a portrait of the musician in AI and the caption "Swifties for Trump." Taylor Swift then said that the incident had prompted her to publicly declare her support. She even admitted that she had to be transparent about her support in the 2024 US presidential election in fighting misinformation.
"This has led me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my true plans for this election as a voter," Swift said. "The simplest way to fight misinformation is with the truth," she said. The statement was followed by a photo upload of the Cruel Summer singer with his pet cat, Benjamin Button, during a photo session for Time magazine.
