At a time when singer Lim Young Woong is considered apathetic towards the current political situation in South Korea, Lee Chaeyeon has openly voiced her opinion. Previously, ITZY's Chaeryeong's older sister shared an emoticon or photo of a candle , which means giving support for the impeachment/removal of President Yoon Suk Yeol from his position.

Unfortunately, Chaeyeon's brave action was responded negatively by some people. Undeterred by many who criticized her, Chaeyeon became even more courageous in conveying what South Korean citizens should do. She also encouraged her fans to join her.

" Isn't it my right to talk about politics? Then what kind of position allows someone to talk about politics? I will do what I need to do as a citizen and as a member of society. I will mention things as they should be. I am a celebrity, so I will speak ," Chaeyeon emphasized on her Bubble account, Saturday December 7, 2024.

Chaeyeon understands that many people are worried about her actions, considering her profession as a public figure. However, Chaeyeon feels that she has to do this. With the intention of setting an example for other South Korean citizens not to be afraid to speak the truth.

" I know very well that you are worried about what I say because I am an idol. However, I am also a citizen. I appreciate your concern. Let's live in a better world. Let's love to our hearts' content in that world ," she added. For her courage, Chaeyeon received a lot of support from fans.

Fans also joined to protect Chaeyeon from attacks from people involved in the political conflict. Not only netizens who continue to send criticism to Chaeyeon, Jeong Yura, Choi Soon Sil's daughter, who was involved in political issues in 2016 also criticized the idol.

He wrote on Facebook, " It's true that positions are not needed when talking about politics, but it's a problem when you suddenly bring it up when you've had no interest in it until now. Wake up. Are you aware of the fact that the Democratic Party has been wasting its budget?

If you want to speak freely, understand the situation properly before you speak ." On the other hand, singer Lim Young Woong was accused of giving an apathetic reply to a netizen's DM. The netizen sent a message, " Not the right time to do that ."

Unexpectedly, Young Woong replied to the DM by writing, " Do what? " The netizen began to convey the public situation demanding President Yoon's removal. The netizen wrote, " The entire nation is united to impeach the president who declared martial law against the constitution.

I didn't even expect you to speak out, but (posting the dog's birthday on Instagram) is reckless. Aren't your fans mostly older Koreans who have experienced martial law before? " The singer then gave a sharp reply. " Am I a politician? Why would I voice something? " replied Young Woong.

The handsome singer's attitude when replying to netizens' DMs sparked criticism because many were disappointed that Young Woong seemed not to care about the condition of his country. There were also netizens who felt that the man did not need to reply to DMs if he did not care about the condition of the country.
