Hanni became very emotional while appearing on "Kim Hyun Jung's News Show" on Wednesday December 25, 2024. The moment occurred when she discussed her unreleased song , "Darling Darling". The NewJeans member couldn’t hold back her sudden emotional outburst. She said, “All five of them will sing this song in difficult times.”
Kim Hyun Jung , the host, was curious about why Hanni chose to perform the song for the first time on an event. Hanni excitedly said, "I didn't release this song, but wrote it and shared it with Bunnies (fandom name) because we were going through a hard time at that time..." and then burst into tears.
Realizing she was crying, Hanni gave her encouragement. While helping to wipe Hanni's tears, Danielle said, "Oh, no! Oh my gosh! Her tears are falling!" Hanni continued, "I thought, 'Should we get together and sing it as a group?' Or 'Should I do a live broadcast to release the song?' Should I just upload the video, or what?
I was so unsure, and even for me, while I was making the video, I kept crying because I was still hurt. It was hard to show it to the members too. It was hard to show it to anyone because I haven't... How should I say it? I haven't healed yet." After going through an emotional and up-and-down explanation, Hanni apologized and said that the members don't cry often on radio shows.
In response, Hyun Jung noted that Hanni's original work, without a doubt, comforted listeners who may be going through their own hard times.
