Park Min-young officially decided to leave Hook Entertainment after almost three years. She decided not to renew her contract which ends on December 31, 2024. Hook Entertainment also confirmed the news and explained that they and Park Min-young decided to separate after peaceful discussions.

"It is true that Park Min-young's contract has ended. We will continue to support her until her current drama ends. We wish her the best for her future endeavors," said Hook Entertainment, as reported by Sports Seoul via Naver on Wednesday January 1, 2025.

However, Park Min-young's side has yet to comment on her next move after leaving Hook Entertainment. She is likely to join a new agency , but there is no other news about where the actress will land next. Park Min-young has one drama project titled The Confidence Man KR which she did when she was still at Hook Entertainment. 

The drama adaptation of the Japanese comedy series is even in the filming stage. The Confidence Man KR is an adaptation of the Japanese series The Confidence Man JP which tells the story of three credit fraudsters nicknamed Confidence Man.

They form a team with the aim of stealing money from evil companies or mafia using any means. The Japanese version of the series stars Masami Nagasawa, Masahiro Higashide, Shinya Kote, Fumiyo Kohinata, Yosuke Eguchi, and Lisa Oda. The series was re-adapted into a Korean version titled The Confidence Man KR. 

The project will be produced by Nam Ki-hoon as director with Hong Seung-hyun as screenwriter. Nam Ki-hoon has long been known as a director for a number of popular dramas, starting from Tunnel (2017), Voice 3 (2019), Kiss Sixth Sense (2022), Big Bet (2022), and Destined with You (2023). 

Meanwhile, Hong Seung-hyun has been a scriptwriter for the dramas Criminal Minds (2017) and Cheo Yong (2014). Park Min-young is a Korean actress who has successfully starred in a series of hit dramas. Among them are City Hunter (2011), Healer (2014), and What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (2018).

Recently, Park Min-young starred in Marry My Husband (2024) which successfully broke a record when it aired last year. The drama's final episode reached a rating of 12 percent, breaking the record for the highest rating for a tvN drama airing on Monday-Tuesday.
