Rookie actor Lee Chae Min has received an offer to star in the Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef. If he accepts the offer, Lee Chae Min will replace controversial actor Park Sung Hoon as Yoona's co-star. On Saturday January 11, 2025, Park Sung Hoon decided to step down from the cast of the Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef.

The decision was made between the production team and Park Sung Hoon's agency following the controversy over uploading an adult film poster parodying Squid Game. Since uploading the pornographic content during the national mourning period, on Monday December 30, 2024, Park Sung Hoon has drawn public criticism.

Yoona's fans finally urged the production team of The Tyrant's Chef to consider the actor's appearance. The controversy is feared to affect the broadcast of the drama. The Tyrant's Chef production team responded to Yoona fans' concerns by recruiting Lee Chae Min as the main actor.

Lee Chae Min's agency, GOLDMEDALIST reported that she is reviewing the offer that came to her. "Lee Chae Min has received an offer to star in The Tyrant's Chef and is reviewing it positively," the production team of The Tyrant's Chef said in a statement, as reported by Soompi.

The Tyrant's Chef follows the story of a chef who travels back in time to the peak of her career. There, the female chef meets a king who is known as the worst leader, but is a culinary expert. This romantic comedy drama is directed by Jang Tae Yoo who is behind the success of the Korean dramas My Love from the Star, Lovers of the Red Sky, and Knight Flower.

Now Lee Chae Min's appearance as Park Sung Hoon's replacement in the Korean drama The Tyrant's Chef has sparked debate. In addition to the age difference with Yoona, netizens are worried that her acting skills are not yet able to match Yoona.

Lee Chae Min made his acting debut as an actor in 2021. He gained popularity in two years after starring in the K-drama Crash Course in Romance. This year, the K-drama Bunny and Her Brothers starring him with Roh Jeong Eui will air in April.

"Well, all the senior actors have already booked this year, even though I've been waiting a long time for Yoona-PSH. This isn't about the age gap, but she's still a rookie for Yoona's acting experience. If you're looking for a young Lee Jae Wook, does he have any projects yet " commented a Korean drama fan on Twitter.

"While it hasn't aired yet, I can't judge it, but I think Chaemin's acting is fine, maybe not that great but not bad either, let's see," wrote another Korean drama fan. For your information, Lee Chae Min and Yoona are 10 years apart. Yoona was born on May 30, 1990 and is currently 34 years old. While Lee Chae Min was born on September 15, 2000 and is 20 years old.
