Red Velvet's Joy has been officially confirmed to have extended her contract with SM Entertainment. The news of the contract extension came from the idol and the agency after discussions between the two parties.
Reported from SM's statement, Joy agreed to continue the contract out of trust with the agency that has been with her since her debut as a K-pop idol. "Joy has completed her contract renewal with SM, agreed upon based on the trust we have built over the years," SM Entertainment said.
"She will continue her activities with SM's full support." SM Entertainment also announced that Joy is the third Red Velvet member to extend her contract. She follows Seulgi who extended her contract in August 2023 and Irene in February 2024.
Meanwhile, Wendy and Yeri are the two Red Velvet members who have not confirmed whether they will continue their careers with SM Entertainment when their contracts end. Joy also released an official statement regarding the contract extension.
The musician, whose real name is Park Soo-young, admitted that she wants to continue her career after 10 years with full confidence.
