Some time ago, actor Park Sung Hoon shocked the public after uploading a poster for the JAV parody film Squid Game on his personal Instagram account. After the photo circulated, Park Sung Hoon's agency quickly clarified that he accidentally uploaded the photo to his Instagram story.

The agency revealed that the Squid Game-themed JAV photo was sent by someone to Park Sung Hoon via DM (Direct Message). He planned to save the photo to report to the company but accidentally uploaded it to his personal account.

Hwang Dong Hyuk , the director of the Squid Game series, finally spoke out in response to the controversy over Park Sung Hoon's JAV photo upload. Reporting from Allkpop on January 6, 2025, the director showed his displeasure at the Squid Game parody photo.

Pornographic uploads that take the Squid Game movie to parody will damage the original meaning of the film itself. "They distort the meaning of the (original) work itself," said Hwang Dong Hyuk. On the other hand, he also revealed that he had not spoken directly with the actor Cho Hyun Ju.

Director Hwang wanted to know how the mistake could have happened. But he was definitely disappointed because the work he created with great effort was parodied in an inappropriate style. "Even since season 1, as far as I know this kind of thing has happened overseas. Isn't this common when famous works are released? It's unpleasant.

It completely distorts the meaning of the original work itself," said director Hwang. He added, "I haven't had a chance to talk to Park Sung Hoon about the issue. It seems like someone tried to send it to Park Sung Hoon, but I haven't heard how it ended up being uploaded by him.

Honestly, I also want to know why that mistake happened."  Squid Game season 2 was just released on December 26, 2024. In the latest season, the serial film introduced new faces besides actor Lee Jung Jae as the main character. They are Jo Yuri ex IZ*ONE, Im Siwan, Choi Seung Hyun aka TOP, and Park Sung Hoon and others.
