Jang Won Young recently had a photoshoot and interview with Vogue Korea magazine. On that occasion, the IVE member opened up about life as an idol, her personal goals and motivations, and her thoughts on IVE's recent comeback.
Won Young initially discussed his seriousness in pursuing a career as an idol and a model. "It's not that I just focus on one thing while taking the other one easy. I take both seriously. If I only focus on one thing, I get bored easily. That's why I always want to try something new," she said.
Won Young was also asked about her mother's reaction to her status as a global star. "Sometimes she suddenly asks, 'How did I get this lucky?' But she said she doesn't feel lucky because I'm a celebrity, she just feels lucky and grateful because I'm her daughter," Won Young answered.
The idol then discussed the most memorable moment in his career. "The Lollapalooza performance last year. It was amazing. IVE is a group that started in Korea, but so many people from all over the world came and cheered enthusiastically," said Won Young.
The question then turns to what would she do if fate really played a trick on Won Young. "Since you can't escape fate by avoiding it, I believe that accepting and overcoming it will bring good things in the end. You just have to live with it.
And if there's something that needs to be changed along the way, then of course, you should change it," Won Young answers wisely. Next, Won Young was asked about the strengths and weaknesses of his personality. "If I had to pick something that is lacking, it would be that I get bored easily.
But I don't consider it a weakness. It actually makes me work faster," she said. "Meanwhile, what about something I have in excess? The love I receive from fans, the love I give, and my cheerful side," Won Young continued. The idol also revealed that he has no regrets in her life.
"Since I was young, I always believed that 'Jang Won Young is Jang Won Young.' I'm so happy that everything went according to my imagination. I have no regrets," she said. Won Young also discussed whether he felt burdened by being the center of attention with her work as an idol.
"Hearing it like that makes me feel really heavy, but I don't really think of it that way when I'm actually working. I just do what I like, and it just so happens that people are paying attention. So I don't feel like it's a burden," she replied.
