Pete Davidson is stealing the spotlight again. This time, it's not because of his love life that is always in the spotlight, but his body which is now free of tattoos. After four years of painful tattoo removal, the comedian and actor shows off the results of his transformation in a new photo shoot.
Since his early days on Saturday Night Live in 2014, Pete has been known for his tattooed body. From his chest, back, arms, to his neck - almost his entire body is covered in various ink designs that reflect his life story. However, in 2020, Ariana Grande's ex-lover decided to remove all of his tattoos.
According to a source close to him, the decision was made spontaneously, as if he 'woke up and wanted them gone'. Removing hundreds of tattoos is not easy. In an interview, the 31-year-old revealed that the tattoo removal process took years. The cost is also not cheap, reaching US$200,000.
He also admitted that the procedure was extremely painful and advised anyone considering getting a tattoo to really think it through. "I woke up and looked in the mirror and thought, 'No. Who is that?' I thought, 'I have to change it up a little bit,'" Pete said, as quoted by Glamour.
Now that his body is free from tattoos, Pete appears in the latest campaign for fashion brand Reformation. In the photos that are circulating, Pete is wearing only underwear, showing his body which is now 'bare' from tattoos. The campaign was a huge success, especially among fans who were used to seeing Pete with his iconic tattoos.
But he received a lot of positive responses. "He looks healthier and happier," commented one Instagram user. "Oh my gosh, no more tattoos? Is this you Petey?" wrote another netizen. "Tattoos say goodbye," praised another netizen. Not only visual changes, Pete also experienced a transformation in his lifestyle.
He revealed that he has been living sober since September 2024 and has managed to gain weight by around 9 kg. In an interview on the Today Show, Pete said that this decision came after he looked at himself in the mirror and felt the need for a big change in his life.
