G-Dragon's show, Good Day, on Monday March 17, 2025 issued an apology after showing Kim Soo Hyun's scene on their latest episode. The production team also stated that they would delete as many parts of Kim Soo Hyun as possible.
The actor has recently been caught up in a lot of trouble, one of which is dating the late Kim Sae-ron when the actress was still a minor. "We have decided to erase Kim Soo Hyun as much as possible from now on," said the show's producer as reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, Monday March 17, 2025.
On the episode that aired on Sunday March 16, 2025, Kim Soo Hyun appeared as a guest star on the show. His name was also mentioned several times by other guest stars. After the episode aired, MBC's comment column as a live broadcast channel was showered with various criticisms, as well as condemnation from the audience.
The public said they did not want to see the actor's appearance. Some viewers have also called for a boycott of Good Day and even other programs from the same producer, Kim Tae-ho. Responding to the criticism, Good Day producers immediately said that they had tried to remove Kim Soo Hyun from the fifth episode of the series.
They revealed that the final version that has aired is a re-uploaded edition, Kim Soo Hyun's appearance has been removed from the previous version and has been translated. As a result, the version that aired was "less detailed" and about 10 minutes shorter than the other episodes.
The apology and deletion were also only delivered after netizens had already criticized the filming process that had previously continued with Kim Soo Hyun on March 13, 2025. In response to the controversy, the producers revealed that they had no choice but to continue with the show due to scheduling issues with other artists.
"After careful consideration, we had no choice but to proceed with filming (on March 13, 2025) because the agency plans to release an official statement next week, starting on the 13th, and we are having difficulty arranging the stars' schedules after that date," the producer said.
"After extensive discussion, we filmed and performed the scenes while considering the potential for deleting footage and ensuring there was no overlap with other actors," they added. "Good Day" is a program starring G-Dragon, a famous member of the K-pop group BIGBANG.
