Yook Sungjae is currently busy promoting his latest drama titled "The Haunted Palace". On Wednesday April 9, 2024, the BTOB member accompanied by his co-star in the drama, Bona WJSN became a guest star on Park Na Rae 's YouTube channel.
On that occasion, Yook Sungjae and Bona admitted that they had known each other for 16 years where they first met through a public audition at JYP Entertainment. Na Rae commented, "You've known each other since you were little, and because you're both charming, I'm sure you noticed each other right away."
The two said, "When you train together (as trainees), a kind of friendship forms." Bona added jokingly, "It wasn't about romance, we saw everything, good and bad. However, Yook Sungjae is the type to really 'level up'." Bona shared that she often seeks advice from Yook Sungjae when facing difficulties.
The actress said, "For example, if I'm having trouble with my agency, he'll say, 'They're all the same. Think of it like this: out of all the people who are the same, you work with the one who understands you the most.' Hearing that, Yook Sungjae admitted that there are many criminals in the entertainment industry.
"That's a very sweet version. What I'm really saying is, 'There are many criminals in this business. Work with the criminal who knows you best,'" he said. The two also showed their close bond, saying that they would each lend each other 100 million KRW if needed.
Bona said, "The fact that we've remained close for 16 years alone shows our loyalty." "We both work hard juggling music and acting. Yook Sungjae has a big influence on me. He always says, 'I hope you don't give up on being a singer' or 'I hope you try releasing a solo album someday.'

Bona recalled complaining a lot while filming “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” because she struggled physically and emotionally. “I think it was when Yook Sungjae had just come back from the military. Yook Sungjae concluded, "We're not the type to say cheap things to each other. We don't really contact each other before starting something new.
