BTS's Jungkook and Jimin have officially completed their mandatory military service and returned to civilian life. On the morning of June 11, 2025 KST, the two underwent a ceremonial discharge procession at the 5th Infantry Division military unit in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Afterwards, they greeted the media crew and fans who had been waiting at the Yeoncheon sports field. Jimin and Jungkook, who will enlist together in December 2023, appeared in military uniforms while holding bouquets of flowers. With great enthusiasm, they saluted as a farewell to military life.
BTS’s Jungkook, who is known to serve as a cooking soldier, smiled as he accepted the microphone and said, “I don’t know what to say,” drawing laughter from the audience. In his speech, BTS’s Jimin expressed his gratitude to fans who have been waiting faithfully.
“Thank you to the fans who came from far away. From the pandemic to military service, we have been through quite a long time." "Since you are waiting, I think we can continue the image we have created together. We will prepare the best for you," he said.
Jungkook also expressed his appreciation to his fellow soldiers. "To the seniors who have gone before us, the juniors who are still serving, the colleagues who finished first, and the officers who worked hard, thank you for your support and attention," he said.
Jimin shared his experience during his military service, admitting that military life was not easy. “I never take it for granted, but it was not easy. We shared our joys and sorrows, ate together, even slept outside together, so many memories were formed,” he recalled.
Jungkook added jokingly, “There are so many stories that happened. I’ll tell them excitingly on live broadcast.” In closing, Jimin gave a message to the public, “I will keep these precious memories in my heart. I want to say that the military is a challenging place.
Many people struggle there. If you meet a soldier on the street, just a smile or a warm greeting will mean a lot to them.” The day before, on June 10, 2025, two other BTS members, RM and V, also completed their military service.
Meanwhile, BTS’s Jin and J-Hope had already finished their military service last year. Suga, who is serving as a social service worker, is scheduled to complete his duties on June 21, 2025. Thus, all BTS members will soon be reunited after completing their military duties.
Welcoming BTS’s 12th anniversary, HYBE will hold a large-scale offline event titled “2025 BTS FESTA” on June 13 and 14, 2025 at KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. HYBE’s office building in Yongsan, Seoul, has also been decorated with BTS and ARMY fandom logos and the words “WE ARE BACK” as a symbol of the group’s return.
