Seunghan, a former member of the South Korean boy group RIIZE, is preparing to start his solo career. SM Entertainment confirmed on Monday June 9, 2025 that Seunghan is preparing for a solo debut targeted for July 2025.
"Seunghan is working hard for his solo debut. We ask for fans' support and enthusiasm," SM Entertainment. News of Seunghan's solo debut first surfaced in November 2024.
At that time, SM Entertainment stated that Seunghan had undergone intensive training, production, and management to prepare for his new step as a soloist. "Seunghan wants to show a new side as a solo artist and realize his talents and dreams.
We hope that fans will support him warmly," the agency added at that time. Seunghan started his career as a member of RIIZE in September 2023. However, just two months after his debut, he was forced to stop his activities indefinitely due to a personal life controversy.
RIIZE then continued on as a six-member group, releasing hits such as "Love 119" and "Boom Boom Bass" which were commercially successful. For 11 months, Seunghan's status in the group remained unclear, with no confirmation of his return or departure from RIIZE.
In October 2024, SM Entertainment announced plans for Seunghan to return to RIIZE. However, this decision drew negative reactions from some fans, so the agency canceled the plan after just two days and decided that Seunghan would officially leave the group.
In his statement, Seunghan apologized to his fellow members and fans. “I no longer want to cause harm. I sincerely support RIIZE, whom I love so much, to continue to be loved in the future,” he said.
Now, with his solo debut fast approaching, Seunghan is set to embark on a new chapter in his career. Fans are looking forward to what kind of music and performance Seunghan will bring as a solo artist.
