After almost two years of disappearing from Instagram, Jungkook , the youngest member of the phenomenal South Korean boy group BTS, surprised fans again with the presence of his newest Instagram account.

On Tuesday July 15, 2025, Jungkook officially launched a new personal account with the username @mnijungkook, which stands for "My Name Is Jungkook." This news immediately went viral on various social media platforms and was enthusiastically received by loyal BTS fans, ARMY, around the world.

This move is interesting because Jungkook had previously deleted his personal Instagram account in February 2023, which at the time had over 52 million followers and 87 posts. He explained that the decision was made because he no longer used the platform and felt uncomfortable, not because his account had been hacked.

He even admitted to deleting the Instagram app from his phone, as quoted by Allkpop on Wednesday (July 16, 2025). However, without prior warning, the 28-year-old singer decided to return to the platform.

He conducted an impromptu live broadcast from his new account, accompanied by a surprise appearance from his BTS bandmates, RM and V. In the broadcast, he greeted and explained the meaning behind his Instagram username.

He said, " The full name is: My Name Is Jungkook. " Even though the account didn't have a profile picture or any posts yet, fans were immediately convinced that it was Jungkook's real account because of the presence of the other BTS members on the broadcast.

Within hours of the account's launch, its followers skyrocketed to over 2 million, and it became a trending topic on Twitter (formerly X). Jungkook's immense popularity was further demonstrated by the account's rapid growth despite minimal promotion or prior notice.

According to Instagram, the account was created in January of this year. However, the other BTS members and their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, only started following the account on Tuesday July 15, 2025.

It's worth noting that since deleting his old account, Jungkook has focused more on his pet Instagram account, @bowwow_bam, which he created specifically for his beloved dog, Bam. The account currently has over 7 million followers and remains active to this day.

Jungkook's return to Instagram comes shortly after completing his 18-month military service. Jungkook, along with RM, V, Jimin, and Suga, are currently in Los Angeles preparing for their next post-military project.

Jin and J-Hope will join them after completing their respective solo activities. The seven members of BTS are scheduled to reunite soon to begin preparations for the group's comeback scheduled for early 2026.

After a brief Instagram broadcast, Jungkook, RM, and V continued their live broadcast on Weverse, which Jimin also participated in. J-Hope made a brief appearance at Incheon International Airport. Jungkook stated that he might be more active in sharing his daily life and projects through his new account.

However, some fans remain cautiously hopeful, given Jungkook's previous impulsive nature, which could lead to him deleting his account again at any time. While it's still early to tell whether he'll be sticking around on Instagram for long, Jungkook's reappearance on the internet has certainly given ARMY a boost.

Amidst the anticipation for BTS's comeback and the members' solo projects, this moment is strong evidence that every small step from the members still has a big impact on the hearts of fans. Have you followed Jungkook's Instagram account?
