Lim Young Min, formerly member of AB6IX, has left the BRANDNEW MUSIC agency after becoming a solo artist. His exclusive contract expired this month. "We would like to inform you that our exclusive contract with artist Lim Young Min has expired.

After discussions regarding future activities, both Lim Young Min and the company have agreed to part ways," BRANDNEW MUSIC said on Thursday, June 26, 2025. “We thank everyone who has shown love and support for Lim Young Min over the years,” he said.

Separately, Lim Young Min also wrote a message for his fans via Instagram. "2016 was the first year I joined Brand New Music. It's been 9 years. 2025, now I'm starting a new beginning," Lim Young Min wrote.

"I will meet you on a new stage, a little nervous and scared, but because of the people who support me, I will take a step bravely," he said. Lim Young Min became known after becoming one of the participants in the second season of Produce 101 in 2017.

Then he founded the duo MXM with Kim Dong Hyun. In 2019, Lim Young Min debuted as a member of the group AB6IX with Lee Dae Hwi, who was an agency colleague who participated in Produce 101. A year later, Young Min left AB6IX after a drunk driving ( DUI) incident.

Lim Young Min made the decision because he didn't want to cause any harm to the group. Lim Young Min then began his military service in May 2022. He continued his activities by releasing a solo album titled ROOM in 2023.
