BTS's RM will be the first and only K-pop artist to deliver a speech at the APEC CEO Summit, a summit of business leaders from the Asia-Pacific region. According to the official APEC program schedule, RM is scheduled to speak on October 29, 2025, the second day of the CEO Summit.
His speech will be themed "Cultural and Creative Industries in the APEC Region and the Soft Power of K-culture." In their official introduction, APEC praised RM as “a creative powerhouse and an avid art enthusiast.” They highlighted his ability to create profound lyrics that are often inspired by various art forms.
“His flexible and philosophical approach to music, along with his ability to push the boundaries of creativity through cutting-edge collaborations with a wide range of artists, has led him to work with a diverse range of talents,” APEC wrote.
Meanwhile, HYBE, the parent company of BIGHIT MUSIC (BTS's agency), became an official sponsor of the APEC CEO Summit—the only entertainment company among the sponsors. HYBE even holds Diamond Sponsor status, the highest level.
At the Gyeongju Arts Center, HYBE set up a promotional booth to introduce its global business in the United States, Japan, China, Latin America, and India, while also showcasing the achievements of artists under multi-labels and lightstick culture as a symbol of K-pop fan support.
