British fashion magazine Elle UK has apologized after being accused of racism against a BLACKPINK member. The criticism stemmed from a series of photos from Paris Fashion Week 2025 posted to Elle UK's Instagram account.
However, BLACKPINK's Rosé, who was also in attendance at the prestigious fashion event, is not visible in the various photos. Elle UK is suspected of intentionally cropping BLACKPINK's Rosé out of the photos they uploaded.
In fact, BLACKPINK's Rose is a global brand ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent and attended the Saint Laurent fashion show for Spring and Summer 2026. These accusations were exacerbated by a post by singer Charli XCX, who also attended the event, in which BLACKPINK's Rosé was barely visible due to shadow.
Following widespread public criticism, Elle UK finally posted an apology. "We apologize for the recent post from Paris Fashion Week where BLACKPINK's Rosé was cropped out of a group photo for size adjustments. We did not intend to offend anyone," Elle UK wrote in the post, quoted on Friday October 3, 2025.
Furthermore, Elle UK is also committed to presenting more diverse content without being racist towards certain races. "We are committed to ensuring that our content going forward represents the full spectrum of our valued readers," Elle UK concluded.
Elle UK has also removed photos cropping out BLACKPINK's Rosé and posted a solo photo of the singer. Despite removing the photos in question, criticism of Elle UK, accusing it of racism, has not subsided.
