Hyun Bin is looking back on his latest film Harbin and his two decades in acting with refreshing candor. Featured as the cover star of Arena Homme+ Korea’s November 2025 issue, the actor showcases his signature depth and quiet charisma, captured in a series of moody, cinematic portraits.
In the accompanying interview, Hyun Bin opened up about the evolution of his craft and how Harbin—his first film since marrying actress Son Ye Jin became a turning point. “With experience comes a little more composure,” he said.
“When I hit a wall, I can now adjust more quickly. But the weight of acting feels heavier than ever. I finally understand why senior actors used to say, ‘The more you act, the harder it gets.’
When I was younger, I didn’t get it—but now I do.” Reflecting on Harbin, Hyun Bin revealed that the project demanded emotional honesty more than technical precision. “’Harbin’ really changed me,” he admitted.
“It wasn’t a film about technique—I wanted it to come from something real. I spent nearly a year thinking about what that man might have felt and what drove him to his choices. When you go that deep, sincerity becomes part of the performance.”
