MONSTA X's I.M got a departure date for his mandatory military service. He will serve as an active soldier starting February 9, 2026. Starship Entertainment as an agency explained that I.M is currently undergoing treatment for his back pain. Even so, he still appeared with MONSTA X for several upcoming concerts.
"I.M will be assigned to the training center on February 9 where he will undergo basic training before fulfilling his duties as an active soldier in the Republic of Korea Army," Starship Entertainment said on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
"There is no separate event held on the day of departure. As the ceremony will be attended by many soldiers and their families, we ask fans not to visit the event to ensure security at the location," agency explained.
They also made a separate statement regarding I.M's involvement in MONSTA X's latest tour, THE X: NEXUS which started this year. "As preparation for duty and meeting fans, he (I.M) has consistently undergone recovery.
Recently, he received medical information that he could perform as long as it was within a possible distance," Starship explained. "Therefore, we would like to inform I.M that he can join MONSTA X's WORLD TOUR, THE X: NEXUS in Seoul.
However, considering the artist's health condition, his participation is adjusted so as not to cause injury," he said. The six members of the MONSTA X group will perform at the THE X: NEXUS concert before continuing their tour to Southeast Asia.
