South Korean actor Kim Young Dae has officially announced his plans to enlist in the military in April 2026. The news was conveyed by his agency, OUTERUNIVERSE, on Tuesday (March 25, 2026).
In an official statement, the agency stated that Kim Young Dae will carry out his duties as an active soldier, as is the obligation that men in South Korea must fulfill. He is expected to complete his military service in October 2027.
Previously, in the closing interview for the dramas To the Moon and Dear X, Kim Young Dae had expressed his views regarding military service. He called the period a “short break in the long journey” of his career.
“After completing my military service, I want to try more roles that I am truly ambitious about and that I can do well,” he said. Kim Young Dae started his acting career in 2017 through the web drama Secret Crushes.
