Singer Park Jin Young will step down from his position as Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at JYP Entertainment on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He will not seek a new board position at the shareholders' meeting scheduled for March 26, 2026.

According to JoongAng Daily , the decision to resign was because Park Jin Young wanted to focus on his career as an artist. “(Park Jin Young) is focusing on creative work as an artist, mentor and taking on roles related to the K-pop industry,” said a statement from JYP Entertainment.

Park Jin Young himself remains the largest shareholder in JYP Entertainment, holding 15.82% of his shares. He founded the company in 1997. This announcement also circulated after he was appointed to the Pop Culture Exchange Committee, a committee initiated during the era of President Lee Jae Myung in October 2025. 

This committee was established with the aim of seeing the promotion of Korean content including K-pop which has gone global. Besides being a founder, Park Jin Young is also a producer who has produced several songs for various groups such as god, Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, TWICE, and Stray Kids.

This year, the young singing duo Dodree debuted as JYP 's newest duo . However, they aren't always involved in the creation of their artists' songs. Musically, Park Jin Young has been active with JYPark, consistently releasing songs and holding concerts. He also recently celebrated his 30th debut anniversary with a concert.
