Korean actor Lee Do Hyun is set to star in a new film following the success of Exhuma. Lim Ji Yeon's boyfriend is considering an offer to appear in the popular Chinese adaptation of Viva La Vida. Exhuma marked Lee Do Hyun's big screen debut in 2024.
The actor transformed into a Gen Z shaman alongside Kim Go Eun. Thanks to his performance in the box office hit, which attracted 10 million viewers, Lee Do Hyun won the 'Best New Actor' award at the 2024 Baeksang Arts Awards. Viva La Vida premiered in the same year as Exhuma.
This romantic film tells the story of a man and a woman who embark on a journey of love after being diagnosed with a chronic illness. If accepted, Lee Do Hyun will star opposite Kim Min Ha, best known for her role as Lee Min Ho's love interest in the Pachinko series.
According to a Soompi report, Lee Do Hyun and Kim Min Ha's agencies have confirmed their casting offers for the film. Viva La Vida, starring Peng Yuchang and Li Gengxi, won Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, at the prestigious 2024 Changchun Film Festival.
Li Gengxi's character, Ling Min, is a woman suffering from kidney disease and determined to find a kidney transplant before she dies. Meanwhile, Lu Yao, played by Peng Yuchang, is a man suffering from a brain disease.
Together, they decide to help each other, finding love and meaning in life amidst despair. Furthermore, the Korean version of Viva La Vida will reportedly be directed by Park Dan Hee, who is behind the success of the Korean drama Weak Hero Class 1.
Once the cast is finalized, the production team will begin filming this year. Ahead of the screening of the film Viva La Vida, fans can look forward to Lee Do Hyun's action as a ghost hotel owner in the Korean drama Grand Galaxy Hotel.
On Monday (October 13, 2025), Netflix released a photo of Lee Do Hyun during a script reading with Shin Si Ah, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Lee Su Hyun. This drama has gone viral and is being touted as a male spin-off of Hotel del Luna, as it previously focused on IU's main character.
