Actress Daveigh Chase has died at the age of 35. The actress, known for films like 'The Ring' and 'Lilo & Stitch,' had been inactive in the entertainment industry for a long time. Several months before her death, it was revealed that she had been living under tragic circumstances.

Daveigh Chase reportedly lived a life of pain before her death, as friends and loved ones tried to save her life. Her manager told The California Post that Daveigh's half-sister, Gaia Brown, even enlisted the help of a private investigator a year ago to track her down and help her.

John Ryan, who had been Daveigh's manager for over a decade, was informed of a video that allegedly showed his dire condition on Skid Row in late 2025. The video, which went viral, showed Daveigh's emaciated and barely conscious body on the floor of what appeared to be a tent or trailer.

John said he managed to contact Daveigh by phone to try to get her treatment shortly after the video surfaced. Unfortunately, Daveigh disappeared upon her arrival at Skid Row.

At the time, Ryan and Daveigh's half-brother were planning to get the actress admitted to a rehabilitation facility in Costa Rica. "We almost found him. Daveigh was the sweetest, brightest person in Hollywood. I can't believe this is real. His legacy and work will live on forever," John told The Post.

Chase rose to fame for her role as the voice of Lilo in the hit animated film in 2002. She also earned further acclaim as Samara Morgan, the antagonist in 'The Ring,' and voiced a character in 'Spirited Away.' However, her later years were marred by addiction and homelessness.

Daveigh Chase died on June 17, 2026 from meningitis and a blood infection, according to TMZ. She was hospitalized for severe malnutrition. At the time of his death, Daveigh hadn't appeared in film or television for about a decade.

Her last leading roles were in the horror film 'Jack Goes Home' and the thriller 'American Romance' in 2016. Hernandez, the man who claims to be Daveigh's boyfriend and opened a fundraiser for her, said the woman had experienced difficulties due to her childhood and family conflicts.

"After a difficult childhood and painful disagreements with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved.

Together, we found moments of joy and hope. "All she wanted was a place where we could be together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her comfort and peace in her final days," said Hernandez, who has raised $1,400 as of this writing.

In memory of and honoring the late actress, John Ryan is also reportedly working on a documentary about the search for the Hollywood actress, titled 'Finding Lilo.' The project has reportedly attracted the attention of several major studios.
