Ahn Bo Hyun returns as Jin Yi Soo, a chaebol heiress turned detective, in the latest drama "Flex x Cop 2". In this second season, Jin Yi Soo will face new challenges after completing her training at the police academy, collaborating with senior detective Joo Hye Ra, played by Jung Eun Chae.
Ahead of the premiere of "Flex x Cop 2" on August 7, 2026, Ahn Bo Hyun gave an interview expressing his excitement for the new season. He stated, "More than anything, I'm really happy to be able to experience the special atmosphere of the first season again.
After adjusting the schedule, over 90 percent of the original staff returned, so returning to the filming set felt like going back to school after summer break and starting a new semester."
In the first season, Jin Yi Soo's character was known for her flashy and flamboyant investigative style, leveraging her wealth and connections to catch criminals. Now, in the second season, viewers will see the development of Yi Soo, who has completed formal training as a true detective.
Ahn Bo Hyun explained, "While preparing for season two, the director, writer, and I had a lot of discussions because I wanted Yi Soo to show that she has grown into a more mature detective.
We wanted to maintain her signature energy and beagle-like personality, while showing a more serious and reliable side when investigating." He also revealed that Jin Yi Soo's signature "money-driven" investigations will be further enhanced this season.
Describing private jets as his favorite "cheat code," Ahn Bo Hyun added, "From her first appearance, she will make an impression of extraordinary scale by arriving on her own private jet."
He further said, "I think viewers will enjoy the satisfying feeling of seeing unrealistic situations resolved in spectacular ways through Yi Soo's wealth and influence—things that would be impossible in real life."
Ahn Bo Hyun also highlighted the action scenes in the drama, revealing, "I wanted to present action scenes that were as polished as the first season, so I acted a lot myself without using a stunt double.

Joo Hye Ra, who was once Yi Soo's police academy instructor and known for her strict disciplinarian nature, is now assigned as the leader of Violent Crimes Unit 1 and becomes her investigative partner.
Describing the dynamic between them, Ahn Bo Hyun laughed, "Every time Joo Hye Ra sees Jin Yi Soo, she calls her 'crazy person.' I think viewers will have fun seeing Yi Soo suddenly become so obedient around her."
Regarding his collaboration with Jung Eun Chae, he added, "This is my first time working with her. She is a warm and very charming actress. Unlike her elegant image on screen, she is actually very easygoing and straightforward, which makes the atmosphere on set very enjoyable."
