Today, the highly anticipated new drama, 'My Idol, My Debut,' will premiere on MBC Plus at 11:30 p.m. KST. The drama tells the story of a devoted fan who travels eight years into the past to prevent a tragic accident that befell her idol.
In an attempt to change her fate, she ends up becoming an idol trainee. One of the highlights of this drama is the lead acting debut of THE BOYZ's Q as Han Jae Ha, a key member of the boy band BOY TO THE MOON.
Drawing inspiration from his real-life experiences as an idol, Q is expected to showcase authenticity and charm in his role. The drama also offers a new twist on the established time-slip genre.
Written by Choi Yeon Soo, the writer of 'Sh**ting Stars', the story follows the journey of devoted fan Choi Annie (played by Hwang Ji Ah ) who travels back from 2026 to 2018 to save her idol, Han Jae Ha.
However, Annie's mission takes a turn when she becomes an idol trainee, presenting a story that blends romance, mystery, and personal growth. One of the drama's unique features is its blend of fiction and reality.
The fictional girl group IRION will release original music and officially promote as a real group, bringing the drama's universe to life. Prior to its premiere, the group has begun interacting with fans through their official social media accounts and their web variety show, 'IRI ON: Real Debut.'
The drama also promises plenty of musical moments. With the 'Show Champion' studio serving as one of the main settings, viewers will get an authentic behind-the-scenes look at the world of K-pop music shows.
Original songs, including Q's solo track "Anytime" and IRION's debut single "MEMORIA," which will be released on July 19, 2026, will also be featured throughout the drama, accompanied by dynamic stage performances.
