Solo Leveling, which is currently being adapted into a live-action drama series, is raising high expectations with its star-studded cast. Recently, actor Lee Hong Nae was rumored to have joined as Kang Tae Shik. His presence has further fueled public enthusiasm for the upcoming live-action project.
Reporting from Soompi on Monday (July 20, 2026), Xportsnews reported that Lee Hong Nae was chosen to appear in the newest Netflix series, Solo Leveling. VARO Entertainment, Lee Hong Nae's agency, explained that the artist has received an offer to star in the project, but no final decision has been made.
Based on the web novel and webtoon, Solo Leveling tells the story of an E-rank Hunter named Sung Jin Woo, who is nicknamed the lowest-ranked hunter. After experiencing a life-threatening incident, he gains extraordinary abilities and grows into the strongest hunter who will save the world.
Meanwhile, Lee Hong Nae is cast as Kang Tae Shik, a B-rank Hunter in the Korean Hunter Association's Monitoring Division. In the original work, Kang Tae Shik is known as a villain and a dangerous enemy to Sung Jin Woo, played by Byeon Woo Seok.
Apart from the two names above, a number of top actors and actresses have been confirmed to join the live action Solo Leveling, including Han So Hee, Kang You Seok, Kang Min Na, Cha Woo Min, Lee Sung Min, and Rain.
