Smart Communications, Inc. revealed South Korean actor Hyun Bin as the face of its newest campaign. Smart’s decision to team up with the “Crash Landing on You” star is reflective of how Korean entertainment has made a significant impact on Filipino viewers.
In a Twitter post by Smart Communications promoting a clip with caption “The Captain is coming. Watch out for the big RiVeal,” The telco's chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan replied confirming that Hyun Bin, the star of the global hit series, Crash Landing On You, is the actor featured in the nine-second teaser announcement.
Hyun Bin leads the charge with Smart’s “Simple. Smart Ako” campaign, which focuses on the power of Smart’s LTE capabilities and array of Giga Promos, allowing users to access mobile data for a variety of purposes: video streaming, gaming, and social media. Smart plans to ramp up its Giga Promo services to offer more data options for people working and studying from home.
South Korean superstar gained global fame when he starred in Crash Landing On You as Captain Ri opposite Son Ye-jin. He is best known for his roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Name is Kim Sam-soon, the romantic fantasy drama Secret Garden (2010–2011), and fantasy drama Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019).
