Tecno Camon 18 has been launched in India as a new entrant in the Spark series. It is the latest budget offering from the brand and will succeed the Camon 17. The smartphone has a punch-hole cutout on the front to house the large 48MP selfie snapper, triple camera sensors on the back in a rectangular module, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
Key specifications on the Tecno Camon 18 include a 6.8-inch display, a MediaTek Helio G85, Android 11 OS operating system, 48MP primary rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone comes only in a single 4GB RAM and 128GB storage option. The latter can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Tecno Camon 18 sports a large 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD display with 1,080 x 2,460 pixels resolution, 396 ppi, a peak brightness of 500 nits, a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout to house the selfie camera. At the heart, it runs on Android 11 OS operating system with HiOS 8.0 custom skin out of the box and packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
There is a whopping 48MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics. It comes in a single 4GB + 128GB storage model. There’s support for 3GB virtual RAM, that utilises internal storage for better multitasking.
The Tecno Camon 18 has triple cameras on the back, with a 48MP primary sensor (f/1.79 aperture), a 2MP secondary lens, and a third AI sensor. The phone’s camera features include dual flash, 2K video recording, low-light photography mode with the company’s TAIVOS technology, slow-motion, night video mode, and video bokeh. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
As for the pricing and availability, Tecno Camon 18 is priced at Rs. 14,999 in India for the single 4GB + 128GB model. The company is offering Buds 2 TWS earbuds along for those purchasing the phone. It will be available across online and retail stores starting from December 27th in Dusk Grey and Iris Purple colour options.
