Xiaomi-owned brand, Redmi will launch its K50 series of handsets in China on February 16, the company has announced on Chinese microblogging website Weibo. The line-up will reportedly include K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro+, and K50 Gaming Edition models. An official teaser has revealed the design elements of the K50 Gaming Edition. It will feature a triple rear camera module with RGB lighting and mechanical gaming triggers.

The Redmi K50 series will be an upper mid-range offering by the company. It will arrive as a successor to the existing K40 line-up. The smartphones will flaunt a vibrant design, premium hardware, and powerful processors. The top-tier K50 Gaming Edition is rumored to get a flagship Snapdragon processor along with a high refresh rate OLED screen, some gaming-centric features, and 120W fast-charging support.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition may bear a 6.67-inch OLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz or higher refresh rate. The smartphone is likely to feature a punch-hole design with rounded corners, and slim bezels. The rear section will sport a triple camera unit. The dimensions of the K50 Gaming Edition will be 162x76.8x8.45mm. It will weigh around 210 grams.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition will be equipped with a triple rear camera module comprising a 64MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth snapper. For selfies and video calls, a 16MP front-facing snapper is expected. On the front software, the smartphone will boot Android 12 with the latest MIUI skin baked on top.

Under the hood, the Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition will reportedly be fueled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The RAM and storage options are unclear as of now but it is rumored to pack a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the smartphone should offer support for 5G, Wi-Fi, and NFC.

The official pricing and availability details of the Redmi K50 series will be revealed by the Chinese tech company at the time of launch on February 16. However, based on the specifications, the series may start at around CNY 2,100 (roughly Rs. 25,000).
