South Korean tech giant, Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S22 series of handsets globally on Wednesday. Now, the company has starting taking pre-orders for the smartphones in India. Interested buyers can reserve the handsets till February 21 via Samsung India e-store by paying Rs. 1,999. The booking can be canceled anytime without any penalty. Those who pre-book will get a Galaxy SmartTag worth Rs. 2,699 for free.

The Galaxy S22 series is the most advanced range of devices from Samsung to date. Although the smartphones have made their global debut, the company is yet to reveal their launch timeline in India. Since pre-bookings for the handsets end on February 21, they will be introduced any time around that date. They could be priced in a similar range as their global counterparts.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ bear a 6.1-inch and 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen, while the S22 Ultra sports a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED display. They offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The S22 Ultra supports S Pen. The Galaxy S22 series features a centrally-aligned punch-hole cut-out with slim bezels, an IP68-rated build quality, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage (depending on the region). They boot Android 12-based One UI 4.1. The Galaxy S22 packs a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast-charging support, whereas the S22+ and S22 Ultra houses a 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh battery, respectively, with 45W fast-charging.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ flaunt a triple rear camera arrangement, comprising a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto snapper. On the front, they have a 10MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and two 10MP telephoto snappers with 10x optical zoom. Up front, it has a 40MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

For pricing and availability in India, the Galaxy S22 series can be reserved for Rs. 1,999 via the Samsung e-store. Pre-bookings are open till February 21. The smartphones will be sold in India through Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung stores, and other retail outlets. Globally, the Galaxy S22 series is priced between $800-1,600 (around Rs. 60,000-1,20,000). They could be priced similarly in India as well.
