South Korean actor, Lee Jung Jae will be starring in a Hollywood series. He is confirmed to be the main star in the Star Wars series, The Acolyte. The Acolyte will later air on Disney+ Hotstar. The series will also star Amandla Stenberg, who plays the female lead, and Jodie Turner Smith. 

Leslye Headland, previously successful with Russian Doll, will serve as showrunner, director, writer and executive producer for The Acolyte. Quoted from Variety, The Acolyte takes place before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. The series depicts a galaxy at the height of the High Republic era.

In this era, the Jedi are in their strongest position. The Siths are believed to have been exterminated from the galaxy. However, it is still unclear when the series will air. Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae is currently busy producing the second season of Squid Game. He was confirmed again as Song Gi Hun with Lee Byung Hun who became Front Man and Gong Yoo.

Previously, rumors circulated that Lee Jung Jae had been signed by Marvel. Many then predict the actor will appear in Shang-Chi 2, some even say Lee Jung Jae will be a villain in the film. Regarding this news, Lee Jung Jae personally commented. He denied the news that he would join the MCU.

This was revealed by Lee Jung Jae when interviewed by SBS Entertainment News recently. At that time, he was undergoing promotions for his latest film, Hunt. "The news is not true. An overseas influencer wrote this rumor in the media, maybe just joking. But the rumors spread like facts," said Lee Jung Jae. "Until now I still have not received any offer from Marvel," he concluded.
