Responding to the rampant dating rumors between BLACKPINK's Jennie and BTS's V , as well as the alleged personal photos belonging to Jennie that were leaked to the media, YG Entertainment finally opened up and announced that it would take legal action against the person who spread baseless rumors regarding the artist.
Quoting from Koreaboo on Monday October 3, 2022, YG Entertainment issued an official statement through various media outlets, including Xportnews. In the statement, YG Entertainment said it would take legal action against individuals who deliberately spread personal photos that allegedly belonged to BLACKPINK's Jennie.
YG Entertainment revealed that it had made efforts such as reporting to the authorities to investigate the original distributor who had spread the personal photos that were said to belong to Jennie. The agency has also been monitoring the ongoing situation and filed a complaint this September, after gathering information.
YG Entertainment has made every effort not to issue a statement regarding the circulating rumors in order to minimize the damage caused. However, day by day the rumors spread more and more, and they felt responsible for issues that could not be controlled such as criticism, spreading rumors in a large capacity, sexual harassment, and invasion of privacy that appeared along with the circulation of photos that were allegedly personal photos of the artist.
For this reason, YG Entertainment is responsible for taking legal action to resolve the issue. YG Entertainment will take strong legal action against posts that destroy their artist's image. They also stated that this case had been reported for violation of the Information and Communication Networks Act, information violation and illegal distribution, and indecent use of communication media.
" We will take all possible legal actions without leniency in order to prevent further damage in the future. Photos that were circulated online were released illegally, regardless of the intentions behind them and without the consent of the individuals involved, " YG Entertainment stated. They added, " The act of sharing these photos may be considered a secondary offense and subject to legal penalties.
We sincerely ask you not to share them indiscriminately ." " YG Entertainment will continue to work hard to protect the rights and interests of our artists, " he concluded. Meanwhile, YG Entertainment did not clarify the authenticity of the photos circulating regarding the dating rumors of BLACKPINK's Jennie and BTS's V.
