EXO 's Chen officially released their third mini album titled ' Last Scene ' on November 14 2022. Ahead of the release of the album, the singer born in 1992 also held a press conference to celebrate his return to activities as a solo singer. During the press conference, Chen also discussed various matters regarding his latest album, including the changes he experienced during his absence from the music world for the last three years.
"I appeared and greeted fans last August through the SMTOWN concert, but it's been quite a while since I greeted fans through a new album," Chen said, as quoted from The Korean Herald page on Tuesday November 15, 2022. He added, "I am honing my efforts to deliver good music. I hope that all of you who listen to my songs can receive positive energy."
Next, Chen explained how he worked on his album, the idol admitted that his album was inspired by the word change. "Over the past three years, I have thought about who I am and what kind of person I am. There were good times, there were also bad times, and there were times when I regretted what I had done in the past. However, I thinking all of that gave me the strength to start over,"
Chen said when asked about the times when he took a break from music. Taking a long break from the world of music made Chen feel nervous. However, he admits to taking some time to replenish his own energy, and working on becoming more mature. "I call this new album a new beginning for me. I experienced a lot of changes, and I tried to take the positive side.
I hope to show the real me and more narratives from myself through this album," Chen added. Meanwhile, Chen's third mini album 'Last Scene' has six songs including the title track of the same name. The title song 'Last Scene' is a song that fits the atmosphere of solitude and autumn, and tells about the experience of parting that slowly fades away.
