OMEGA X held a press conference after the public was shocked by the CEO's treatment of the members. Based on a video circulating on the internet, the CEO of Spire Entertainment's management had committed violence against the members after holding a concert in the United States.
In a statement released some time ago by management, the CEO is said to have apologized to the OMEGA X members for what happened. However, because he continued to be criticized by the public, the CEO chose to resign from his position. Now, OMEGA X members have finally spoken personally through a press conference which will be held on November 16, 2022 at 14.00 local time.
Jaehan, Junghoon, Sebin, Jaehyun, Kevin, Hwichan, Taedong, Hyuk, XEN, Hangyeom, and Yechan were accompanied by lawyers, and exposed the bad treatment they received from management. Jaehan, as the leader, said the CEO often sexually harassed the members. They also received physical and verbal violence several times.
"We got to the point where we couldn't last any longer. For the sake of anyone who received unfair treatment and for the sake of those who keep on dreaming, we decided to gather courage and speak up," Jaehan was quoted as saying by Allkpop. "(CEO) often abused us, such as touching our thighs, holding our hands, and touching our faces.
Apart from that, he also said things like 'If you still want to be part of OMEGA X, it's better to keep crawling (on my feet).' or 'I will kill you.' And more verbally abusive words. He terrified us by threatening to kill himself." OMEGA X 's attorney then revealed that the members planned to take this matter to court.
But first, they must file a contract cancellation request with Spire Entertainment management. "We will take this matter to legal channels by filing a lawsuit against the former CEO who has threatened, attacked, and exploited the members," said the attorney. "First of all, we will first apply for cancellation of the exclusive contract for OMEGA X activities with Spire Entertainment," he concluded.
