SuperM Ready for Comeback in 2023, How's Lucas' Fate?

After a hiatus of more than a year, SM Entertainment finally gave a code to fans that the boy group SuperM will soon be making a comeback in early 2023. The teaser regarding the announcement of SuperM's comeback was first shared at the end of the new year's concert 'SMTOWN LIVE 2023 : SMCU PALACE' on January 1, 2023.

After that, SM Entertainment also shared a mysterious teaser to officially announce SuperM's comeback plans this year on their various social media accounts. Quoting from the official SuperM YouTube account, on January 2, 2023, a teaser with a duration of about twenty-five seconds was presented in a sophisticated and powerful format with sound music like an Avengers film. 

It starts with a collection of different colored lights which then form balls of power that are continuously rotating, and then highlight laser beams in various colors to form the SuperM logo. Fans actually issued a new theory, that one of the SuperM members, namely Lucas, who is currently on hiatus, will be replaced by a new member. Quoting from Allkpop , this opinion is based on the number of rays and the color of the laser beam that forms the logo in the SuperM teaser video consisting of different colors. Staying with the seven beams means that SuperM will still have seven members. 

However, one of the lights was red, leading fans to speculate that Lucas would be replaced by a member of TVXQ. TVXQ itself has a red official lightstick color, which further strengthens this suspicion. Meanwhile, the colors of the other six laser beams consist of colors that represent the colors of the SHINee, EXO and NCT lightsticks. 

Although it is still in the form of speculation and it is not clear whether SuperM will have a new member to replace Lucas who is currently on hiatus, many fans hope that Lucas will rejoin SuperM and make a comeback after he missed a comeback with his main group WayV in December 2022.
