NCT DREAM's Japanese debut single 'Best Friend Ever' was just released on February 8, 2023. The Japanese song debuted at #8 on the Oricon Daily Singles Ranking and Weekly Singles Ranking on the day of its release. On February 14, 2023, Oricon released news through its official website that NCT DREAM's 'Best Friend Ever' took the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking.
According to Oricon records, the single 'Best Friend Ever' sold up to 183,000 copies in its first week. NCT DREAM became the 7th foreign male artist whose first single debuted at No. 1 in the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking. Previously there were Jang Keun Suk, EXO, iKON, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, and Golden Child. Meanwhile, Billboard Japan announced that the single 'Best Friend Ever' managed to record sales of up to 348,133 copies in its first week.
